Brabham returns to produce sports and race cars

The legendary Brabham name is making a return 26 years after it was last seen in Formula 1. Brabham Automotive was founded by David Brabham, Le Mans racer and the son of the late Sir Jack Brabham. The company was registered in the UK two years ago and aims to bring back the racing spirit for both road cars and track-only race cars.

Jack Brabham co-founded the original Brabham with engineer Ron Tauranac in 1960. He was a successful Australian racer and three-time Formula One champion. He was also the only person to win a F1 race while driving a race car under his own name.

There is only a new website and a new logo at the moment. How quickly the boutique manufacturer can debut its first car is unknown. Will they have enough time to produce an initial concept presentation for the Geneva Motor Show next month? The chances are slim, but not totally impossible – fingers crossed.
