Jaguar × Bremont Watch Collection
A tribute to the iconic E-Type

Collaborations between automakers and watchmakers are nothing new, but Bremont and Jaguar recently partnered to create one of the more memorable collections this year. Debuting at the 2015 Baselworld convention, the Jaguar x Bremont range consists of two new wristwatches and is a follow-up to the duo’s first range of six chronographs. Dedicated to one of my favorite cars ever — the road-going Jaguar E-Type that debuted in 1961 — the MKI and MKII fuse the E-Type’s elegant design elements with Bremont’s meticulous technical expertise, resulting in two gorgeous timepieces that capture the iconic automobile’s essence.

The MKI watch is a slim, lightweight stainless steel design that features a tachometer-inspired dial and a new movement with date functionality based on Bremont’s meticulously finished self-winding proprietary BWC/01. It also comes with a striking automatic winding weight in the form of a miniature, three-spoke E-Type steering wheel, complete with the iconic Jaguar head at its centre. The vintage-style MKII, meanwhile, channels “the golden era of 1960s sports car motoring” with a black dial that carries the Jaguar heritage logo and hour markings in the style of the numerals found on E-Type instruments. It features a classic chronograph BE-50AE automatic movement, along with the same see-through backing and E-Type-inspired automatic winding weight seen on the MKI. Both the MKI and MKII watches will be supplied with a perforated ‘racing’ strap in true ‘60s style and a traditional leather spare, resulting in a collection that pays homage to the iconic sports car in a subtle, intelligent manner.
