Following the “Simply_Complex” collection unveiled last month, the collaboration between British designer Jonathan Anderson and Converse has resulted in the final collection “New_Classics” which will be released on April 4.

The New_Classics collection showcases Anderson’s daring curiosity, as he again draws inspiration from the vintage ballet slipper and re-interpreting its elements with a modern juxtaposition of natural materials and a technical build.

“The vintage ballerina that inspired the shoe was actually more of a sport slipper in mesh. I liked the functionality and lightness of that shoe, and we decided to adopt some details to reinterpret the icon,”

The collection consists of a new rendition of the classic Chuck 70 and Chuck 70 XX Hi. Both styles feature an application of open cotton knit with leather detailing uppers. Check out the images above,  shot by famed American photographer Larry Clark.
