Blade Runner 2049 Official Trailer

After 35 years, the long-awaited sequel of Ridley Scott’s iconic Blade Runner arrives on October 6th, 2017 in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D. Director Denis Villeneuve reprises the epic sci-fi classic with stars Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford.

The story picks up in 2049, when a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Gosling) discovers a dark secret that could bring an end to humanity. The discovery leads him to Rick Deckard (Ford), a former blade runner who disappeared thirty years earlier, and now lives in a remote, abandoned hideout in the middle of a wasteland.

In the latest trailer shown above, we also note the appearance of various supporting actors such as Jared Leto, Robin Wright, Ana De Armas, MacKenzie Davis and Sylvia Hoeks.

The sequel is also packed full of futuristic flying cars too. In 2049, the blade runners still pilot flying police cars between investigations, which are known as “spinners” in the movie. For Gosling’s spinner, it looks like a combination of the Batmobile from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and the Lamborghini Aventador. The three-wheelers sport a matte black paint job, old school scissor doors, and you can see Gosling pilot the spinner using a joystick.

Blade Runner’s 1982 premiere received mixed reviews from critics and an audience who weren’t quite ready for Scott’s brilliant sci-fi creation, that was well ahead of its time in a several ways. However, in the last three decades, Blade Runner has had several re-releases and re-edits that have brought it huge public acclaim as one of the most influential and beloved sci-fi classics of all time.
