Casio G-SHOCK MRG-G1000HT

You may have heard of or even own a Casio G-SHOCK flagship MR-G metal series, but you may not have known this Casio series has already reached its 20th birthday.

In celebration of their milestone, one would expect an anniversary limited edition. However, this time, Casio’s commemorative MRG-G1000HT is extraordinary; employing a traditional Japanese metal-hammering technique is called “tsuiki”, applied by Bihou Asano, a third-generation master artisan. Asano has previously created works for the Kyoto State Guest House and participated in restoration work of items designated as Important Cultural Properties in Japan. The MRG-G1000HT features Asano’s beautifully hammered pattern on the titanium alloy bezel and strap. The body of the watch utilises a combination of a special Japanese “Oboro-gin” (silver-grey colour) finish and “Akagane” (copper coloured) screws and buttons, to produce a distinctive lustre and dark brilliance. To commemorate the MRG-G1000HT release, a plate is attached to the side of the case engraved with “20th LIMITED”and a limited-edition serial number is engraved on the back.

In addition to its striking appearance and aesthetics, the MRG-G1000HT specs and performance are equally stunning as well. Offering the distinctively solid feel of G-SHOCK, the MRG-G1000HT also comes with an advanced timekeeping system using both Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite signals and radio wave time-calibration signals, and also features Dual Dial World Time, which displays simultaneous times in two cities.
