Four Decades of Chinese Contemporary Art
"M+ Sigg Collection" Exhibition

This March, there have been plenty of exceptional art events to catch. And if you are a fan of Chinese contemporary art, M+, Hong Kong’s museum of visual culture, is hosting an exhibition called “M+ Sigg Collection: Four Decades of Chinese Contemporary Art” that is sure to pique your interest.

Featuring artworks donated by Swedish art collector Dr. Uli Sigg in 2012, the exhibition follows a three-chapter approach, beginning with the last years of the Cultural Revolution through the final decade of the twentieth century, and ending with twenty-first-century Chinese art in the pre-and the post-Olympic era. It is comprised of more than eighty artworks created by renowned contemporary artists, such as Ai Wei Wei, Fang Lijun, Geng Jianyi and Huang Yong Ping. While the exhibition illustrates the emergence and development of Chinese contemporary art over the past forty years, it also serves as a preview of the collection that will be on display when the M+ museum opens in 2019.

The “M+ Sigg Collection” is now on display at ArtisTree Hong Kong through April 5.
