Star Wars X-wing Fighter Carship

While Hot Wheels is famous for their realistic toy cars, the ambitious company loves to step out of its comfort zone with unexpected surprises. Last week, they created a life-size car inspired by the Star Wars X-wing Fighter for the San Diego Comic Con.

This is not the first time Hot Wheels created a life-size Star Wars vehicle, though, as they previously announced the Darth Vader car in 2014. For their new model, the X-wing Fighter is reimagined as a high-performance race car with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Ford engine and can run at 265km/h. Certain adjustments are needed to transform the Star Wars spacecraft into an actual rolling vehicle, while some of the fake decorative weapons are aircraft components for channeling the flying vibe. Hot Wheels’ plan, of course, does not end with a life-size car. The more toy-sized 1:64 scale die-cast miniatures will be released by the end of the year.
