Flexible And Autonomous
Rinspeed Snap

Snap, the latest concept from Rinspeed, further cements the manufacturer as one of the most visionary auto makers currently making moves in the market. Snap features a skateboard-styled chassis that uses an all-electric powertrain, with the ability to attach various types of pods. The pod can also be used as a standalone living space if its passengers prefer to stay in the same spot for a longer period of time. In that case, the fully autonomous chassis can be detached from the pod and can go to pick up other pods or be used for delivering goods.

Rinspeed has imagined Snap being applied to many situations in addition to using it as a mode of transportation. The Pod can be used as a mobile office, a food truck or even a campsite. There are six projectors for displaying information to other road users. The pod is equipped with 5G and Wi-Fi connectivity, and passengers can download their personal files via a cloud service into the pod for personalisation. An AI robot can also function as a personal assistant to accompany passengers and run errands.

So far Snap is still a concept, but we hope during its official launch in CES Las Vegas 2018 Rinspeed will announce a timeline for its development.
