American shoemaker KEEN is an absolute go-to brand for anyone who has a passion for outdoor activities. Aside from the signature Uneek model, the Jasper collection launched in 2008 is another popular choice thanks to its combination of functionality, comfort, and style. For Autumn/Winter 2021, KEEN is launching new colourways for all three styles under the Jasper umbrella, including the original casual trainer, the variant Jasper Rocks with bungee-lace system, and the waterproof Jasper II.
Inspired by rock climbing, the Jasper features a cushioning footbed made of recycled PU and cork that follows the foot’s natural shape for all day comfort. The durable suede leather upper comes from an LWG-certified tannery to ensure it’s in line with the brand’s eco ethos. The main difference between Jasper and Jasper Rocks is that the latter is updated with a slighter rounder shape and a bungee-lace system for handy on and off. The cork in the footbed and the extra cushioning around the ankle offer maximised comfort.
As for Jasper II, the suede upper is powered by KEEN.DRY waterproof technology. The KEEN.ALL-TERRAIN rubber outsole offers higher levels of grip, while the breathable mesh lining, EVA midsole, and removable Luftcell PU insole provides long-lasting comfort. The Jasper II is also available in kids’ sizing, though the smaller version isn’t waterproof. It does, however, have an extra hook-and-loop strap to create an instant and secure fit.
