British luxury in an SUV
Bentley Bentayga

Bentley Bentayga may polarise opinions with its unique and slightly unconventional appearance, but one cannot deny its exceptional qualities inside and out. Set to be launched into the retail market this year, the company’s first SUV aims high in not just delivering a luxury product but also powerful performances. At the heart of the Bentayga is the all-new W12 TSI engine. This 6.0-litre twin-turbo unit combines efficiency and luxury with power and torque outputs of 600 bhp and 900 Nm respectively. It accelerates the SUV from 0-100 km in 4.1 seconds and on its way to a top speed of 301km/h, bringing us the most powerful and fastest SUV to date.

The interior of Bentayga is meticulous as always with intricate detailing and precise finishing in wood, metal and leather. What I like most are the lifestyle-orientated specification packages available. The SUV is designed to sprint in the most extreme conditions from North Cape to desert so it makes sense to include a wet gear stowage option, for example. Alternatively, you can opt for an exquisite integrated Mulliner hamper set, complete with refrigerator, fine china crockery, cutlery and crystal glasses that get you ready anytime. The options may not be groundbreaking but they show the brand’s dedication in bringing convenience to everyday life through the new SUV, and of course, with a touch of its consistent luxury.
