Bring It To 2018
Renault Espace F1 Concept re-imagined

The Renault Espace F1 Concept from 1994 now has finally has a successor, even though it only exists as a digital concept created by independent automotive designer Marco van Overbeeke.

Let’s first look back at the 1994 version. Renault Espace was built with a carbon fibre chassis with parts from the 1993 Williams FW14 F1 car. The engine was the 3.5-litre naturally-aspirated V10 Renault F1 engine found on the same Williams F1 racer, but it was placed inside the cabin, between the two seats in the back row, while the bodywork was bespoke and made entirely in carbon fibre. The powerful Espace was able offer 820 hp of power and 705 Nm of torque.

Marco van Overbeeke has presented his vision of the prototype with all the 2018 elements. The car is based on the current generation of Renault Espace, but combining it with the colours of the current Formula 1 car and the 1.6-litre V6 hybrid powertrain under the rules of FIA.
