Celebrating 1,000 Grands Prix
McLaren Artura 1000GP by MSO

As the McLaren Formula 1 team prepares to reach the extraordinary milestone of its 1,000th Grand Prix start at the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix this weekend, McLaren Automotive has chosen to celebrate the occasion with a highly exclusive road car: the McLaren Artura 1000GP by MSO. The Woking-based team becomes only the second constructor in Formula 1 history to achieve the landmark, following Scuderia Ferrari.

The project pays tribute to a racing legacy that stretches back to Bruce McLaren’s founding vision in 1963, a philosophy built around innovation, teamwork, and relentless progress. Based on the Artura and created by McLaren Special Operations, the special edition draws direct inspiration from the commemorative livery worn by the McLaren MCL40 Formula 1 cars driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri in Monaco. The distinctive camouflage-inspired graphic, first seen on the MCL40, is applied selectively across the bonnet, lower bodywork, and mirror caps. Complementing the design are bespoke pinstripe details on the front splitter and rear diffuser.

Inside the cabin, a unique dedication plaque finished in Metallic Papaya Gold has been created exclusively for this edition. The plaque commemorates McLaren Racing’s journey to its 1,000th Grand Prix start, a period that has yielded more than 200 Formula 1 victories and 10 Constructors’ World Championships across six decades.

While the Artura’s hybrid performance credentials remain unchanged, they are no less impressive. Power comes from a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 plug-in hybrid powertrain paired with an axial-flux electric motor and a 7.4 kWh battery pack. Together, the system produces 690 hp and 720 Nm of torque, enabling the Artura to accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 3.0 seconds before reaching a top speed of 330 km/h.

Only ten examples of the Artura 1000GP by MSO will be offered worldwide, making it one of McLaren’s most exclusive commemorative models to date.
