And Now For Something A Little Different
Classic and sports cars auction in Uithoorn

Classic Car Auctions is holding a classic and sports car auction right now at Uithoorn, the Netherlands. Instead of introducing the fastest and shiniest models, below are some of the unique choices that caught our attention.

Volkswagen T2 Kemperink 1972

This Volkswagen T2 was converted by Kemperink from Almelo, the Netherlands, and was built based on VW chassis. It was originally just a campervan equipped with a 4 cylinder engine and manual gearbox. Extensions were made on the body and the van was used as a food truck, with ample space for storage and cooking. It is in good, drivable condition with onboard power and hot and cold water supplies. It would be a perfect option if you are planning to run your own food truck especially for serving some retro dishes.

Ford Vedette V8 Convertible 1952

The Ford Vedette was manufactured by Ford SAF, the American automaker’s French subsidiary but was entirely designed by the Detroit team. The two door convertible originally featured a French-made 2,158 cc Aquillon side-valve V8 engine and was thought to be the only French car with a V8 engine when it was launched. The hood of this example has a minor damage but overall it is still in good shape.

Citroen Acadiane Break 1982

Created as a commercial vehicle, the Acadiane was only designed for left-hand drive and is a derivative of the Citroen Dyane. The model was produced from 1977 to 1987 and this particular example was manufactured in 1982. Payload for the vehicle is around 500 kg, though the handling was said to be heavily affected when fully loaded. The Acadiane Break rarely appears in the second market and this particular example has been fully restored recently, meaning it will probably catch quite a high price.

Peugeot 304 Cabriolet S 1975

The two-door cabriolet version of Peugeot’s 304 had a production run of 18,647 from 1970 to 1975. The four-cylinder 1,288cc engine in this ‘S’ example gulps fuel and air through a twin-barrel Weber, making it a much more exciting drive than its non-S stablemates. The convertible was first delivered new to the Netherlands and it comes with all original manuals.

Citroen 2CV Le Patron 1982

This 1982 Citroen 2CV was delivered to the Netherlands in early 1990s and had a makeover by Dutch kit car specialist Le Patron. The original Citroen 2CV chassis was kept but after receiving the Le Patron treatment the rest of the car is wildly different. According to Le Patron what we see here is the result of “British design, French techniques and Dutch craftsmanship” and interestingly, inside the boot there is a triangular “hook” which allows the car to towed like a trailer.

Citroen Mehari 1977

The Citroen Mehari off-road compact SUV looks a bit like a luxurious golf buggy. Powered by a 602 cc flat twin petrol engine, it features a soft top and a body made of removable transparent plastic panels. Some wear can be found on this example, but can surely just be thought of as badges of honour gained from a life well-lived.

Online viewing and bidding is available until June 27. Visit the auction page to see the complete lots.
