Nokia announces the new Nokia 8

After a three year hiatus, iconic mobile brand Nokia has been working with HMD Global since the beginning of the year. The fellow Finnish startup, founded by key ex-Nokia staff, is licensed to manufacture phones and tablets for the brand for the coming 10 years. Following the launch of the first entry model Nokia 6 in March, last month Nokia announced its exclusive partnership with Carl Zeiss. It means the Zeiss lenses will be included in future products with Nokia 8 being the first one, while the partnership will extend to other areas from software, service to design. Of all the new features on the high performance Nokia 8, the highlight is easily the Dual-Sight functionality that simultaneously uses both the front and rear cameras in a split screen visual for both photos and videos (Bothie). Users can even livestream recording from both cameras to Facebook and YouTube. Another key feature is the OZO Audio, Nokia’s own 360° spatial surround sound. Nokia 8 combines three microphones with exclusive Nokia acoustic algorithms to capture leading-edge 360° audio for high fidelity playback.

Nokia 8 is more than just a technically superior smartphone. It features a seamless unibody milled from a single block of 6000 series aluminium. The full-length graphite shielded copper cooling pipe inside the phone dissipates the heat generated by high demanding situations quickly for keeping the phone cool. Nokia 8 is equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform paired with pure Android. Available in four colours: Tempered Blue, Polished Blue, Steel and the special Polished Copper, it will be roll out globally starting from this September.
