Eclipse Exclusive
Panoramic Moonroof Eclipse Viewer for Volvo XC60

If you happen to be in North America any time soon, it won’t be long before you’ll run into someone talking about the coming solar eclipse. The eclipse will start on the West coast on August 21 in the morning and gradually progress towards the East. All of North America will be able to see the solar eclipse, while people in certain areas will be treated to the rare occasion of total solar eclipse.

As eclipse should not be viewed directly for safety reasons and some form of glasses or viewer is a-must for protection, Volvo has taken this opportunity to do a timely marketing campaign and created a custom eclipse viewer for the standard panoramic moonroof of the new XC60. Available mainly for car owners in the total eclipse path, the eclipse viewer is made with ISO-certified material and has a magnetised frame for attaching it to the XC60’s roof, allowing all five passengers to experience the nature’s wonder safely and comfortably inside a private car.

For the rest of the world, Volvo is also partnering with CNN for live streaming the total solar eclipse in 4K high-resolution, 360 degree video with virtual reality viewing on the dedicated webpage.
