Visually Enjoyable Coffee Brewing Process
AltoAir™ Mini Filter Cup

A good cup of coffee is a daily ritual and for those who cherish homemade drip coffee, the quality of the brew is crucial. Because each brewing stage affects the ultimate taste, the process particularly interesting. For example, if the filter cup causes the filter paper to stick, the speed of the flow will be affected, and directly impact the taste of the coffee.

The AltoAir™ Mini filter cup created by British design studio, Bairro Alto, removes the walls of the filter cup, replacing the structure with CNC cut stainless steel to minimize the contact between the surface of the cup and the filter paper. With this solid support, coffee is exposed to more air, which improves the quality of the brew and ensures a more consistent taste. AltoAir™ Mini can be placed on top of a cup or a filter pot, and uses the Hario’s V60(01) filter, which is a bit smaller than the standard size. Up to two cups of coffee can be brewed each time.

It’s easy to see that the AltoAir™ Mini was created by coffee lovers. Working from their small studio in Bristol, the Bairro Alto team has integrated the two things that they love, coffee and product design. Being so into the details, they recognized what regular filter cups lacked and developed a better form. The Mini has an intricate visual structure, with a rich architectural sense, which not only satisfies the taste buds but also creates a more visually enjoyable brewing process.
