Unzip To Reveal
‘Open to the Public’ by Alex Chinneck

A surreal work of art adorns the walls of a soon-to-be demolished office building in Kent, England. What’s more, the transformation just happened overnight. Titled ‘Open to the Public’, this is the creation of British artist Alex Chinneck. The abandoned building has been given a huge zip  down the middle of the front, creating an illusion that one could unzip the zipper and look inside the office of a former tannery. There is also another zipper at the other side of the 1960s style building. The new façade is said to made of flexible material for this fun and surreal effect, with the subject being adhere to the building’s former trade.

The project took two months to develop and prepare, but the actual installation was completed simply overnight. The project is ready for the public to visit, yet no one knows how long it would last before the building is being pulled down.
