Reimagining The Rainbows
Of Rainbows And Other Monuments

The 1976 Ferrari Rainbow concept, designed by Marcello Gandini for Bertone features an out of the era appearance while the distinctive and angular body demonstrated what the design house was famous for. It was never turned into a production piece and the prototype remains concealed in Bertone’s private collection. Australian photographer Clemens Ascher dreamt up a “surrealistic and graphic world featuring mysterious monuments, the legendary Ferrari Rainbow and its furious drivers”.

Ascher teamed up with computer graphic studio Recom Farmhouse for the project. His sketches of the background were converted into architectural elements in CGI. The team also experimented  with the placement of the car and the model. It was only through referencing detailed elements such as aged concrete and grass that the team could set the perfect backdrop and mood for highlighting the Ferrari concept. Three versions featuring the primary colours were created to suit everyone’s mood.
