Tougher Than Steel
KLOS Carbon Fibre Ukulele

Wooden ukuleles are great instruments and easy to carry everywhere, but they are not very durable. What if they were made of carbon fibre? A U.S-based company called KLŌS has realised the idea and launched a fund-raising campaign on Indiegogo. In just a few days, the campaign has been successfully funded, exceeding nearly 200% of the original goal.

The KLŌS ukulele took the experience and feedback of over 1500 travel guitar customers in over 70 countries and all 50 states to design. Using carbon fibre solves the problem of string tension on the bridge warping the soundboard, as well as the negative impacts of temperature and humidity changes to sound and playability. The result is the world’s first durable and reliable ukulele that is both natural to play, and beautiful looking and so tough it even survives a car driving over it.
