The idea of a campervan is inherently fun. It’s about freedom, and living the easy life, and so it’s no surprise that they make a popular option for model sets. Earlier this year we saw Playmobil turning the Volkswagen T1 into an interesting miniature, and now it’s time for LEGO to catch up with the new Volkswagen T2 Camper Van set under the LEGO Creator Expert collection.

The VW T2 was first released in 1967, and this LEGO model set stays true to the finer details by having brand new brick elements in order to mimic those much-loved features. Pieces such as the iconic front windshield, textile curtains, and the textile pop-up tent have been specifically created for this model set, while the tyre, working steering, and sliding door are also brand new.

The model set consists of 2207 pieces, and the camper van measures over 15 cm high, 35 cm long, and 14 cm wide when completed. The interior is extremely detailed too, with a mini kitchen that includes a hob, a cupboard, and appliances. The van also comes with a surfboard and two folding chairs, plus stickers to decorate the camper for a flower-powered journey.
