Audi’s e-tron GT Concept prototype was first seen in the 2018 LA auto show, but it wasn’t until recently that the finer details of the production version were unveiled. While the fully electric Audi e-tron GT is based on Porsche Taycan underpinnings, it’s positioned quite differently. As a high-performance grand tourer, it focuses on delivering exceptional everyday usability and long-distance capability.
Initially two models will be available: the e-tron GT quattro and the more dynamic RS e-tron GT. Powering the e-tron GT are the two motors that produce 470 hp and 630 Nm of torque combined. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 4.1 seconds, while the top speed is 245 km/h. The RS e-tron GT boosts all the figures even further, with a combined output of 590 hp and 830 Nm, 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.3 seconds, and a top speed of 250 km/h. The 800-volt battery pack offers excellent range of up to 487 km for the e-tron GT quattro and 472 km for the RS model respectively. What’s more attractive is how quickly the battery can be charged – it only takes 5 minutes of charging for the car to run up to 100 km, and just 22.5 minutes to charge from 5% to 80%.
With sustainability in mind, the interior of the e-tron GT is offered in leather-free design package. Artificial leather and recycled polyester fibres made of old plastic bottles and textiles are paired with optional walnut wood decor or silk matt carbon.
