Ralph Lauren Releases Automotive Skeleton Steel Watch

With the 2018 Watches & Wonders exhibition in full swing over this past weekend, Ralph Lauren has unveiled the latest addition to its Automotive Collection – an all-new steel version of its RL Automotive Skeleton, which will come with a $34,200 USD price tag.

The 1938 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic Coupe

Inspired by the 1938 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic Coupe, the RL Automotive Skeleton now comes with polished and brushed steel surfaces, along with an Amboyna burl wood bezel secured by screws. The watch measures 44.8 mm by 11.2 mm, which remains the same as the original RL Automotive Skeleton, but its now replaced by a stainless steel case instead of the stainless steel case in elite black. While the hands and dials are slightly different than the original, the “RL” logo remains located at 12 o’clock on the dial.

Inside this new Automotive Skeleton is still the same 2.5Hz hand wound Swiss-made F.A. Jones mechanical movement that has been customised by Val Fleurier for Ralph Lauren, carrying a power reserve of 45 hours.
