Return Of The “Blue Crosses”
BMW M4 DTM

With just one more month before the start of the 2017 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters(DTM) season, BMW has revealed its BMW M4 DTM combatant.

The aggressively designed BMW M4 DTM features the marque’s iconic blue-crossed headlights, carrying forward the striking design element of the ’70s BMW 3.0 CSL and ’80s BMW M3 DTM. The coupe is fitted with a 4-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine, producing more than 500 horsepower. Rule changes allow for an enlargement of the air restrictors by 1mm, pushing the new M4 DTM to 2.6 seconds from 0-62mph. Channelling that power to the wheels is a 6-speed transmission with a choice of eleven transmission ratios. The rear wing now consists of two elements, and an increased range of adjustment of up to forty degrees together with a shorter and flatter diffuser.

The refreshed BMW M4 DTM should supply team drivers Bruno Spengler, Timo Glock, Tom Blomqvist, Augusto Farfus, Maxime Martin, not to mention reigning champion Marco Wittmann, with plenty of firepower to take the championship again in 2017.
