Boston-based startup Waylens is aiming to shake up the current dashcam market with its new automotive camera system called Horizon, a data-driven video recorder that allows drivers to capture, edit and share exciting travel moments free from hassle.

The tiny Horizon dashcam captures high-quality, and high-speed video at 1080p/60fps and provides a seamless user experience with a pre-paired OBD-II connector and steering wheel remote. The full aluminium body features an OLED touch screen to display a live view and bristles with a suite of advanced sensors, a 10 Hz, high-resolution GPS for accuracy at high speeds, 9-axis motion sensors to measure G-forces and dual microphones to capture the symphony of the exhaust. With the wireless OBD-II transmitter, the dashcam can also communicate with your car’s engine data points such as speed, RPM, manifold pressure and engine temperature. The Horizon allows you to choose which data points to overlay on your video, and then share it with your friends via the free companion app.
