Ready For The Next Giant Step
Reebok Space Boot SB-01

Sports giant Reebok has unveiled a new space boot specially designed for astronauts – the Space Boot SB-01. The company has teamed up with aerospace equipment supplier David Clark Company to upgrade astronaut space boots that haven’t been updated or improved since before NASA’s Apollo Moon Project, 50 years ago.

The Space Boot SB-01 is designed to fit each astronaut like a glove. It uses Reebok’s patented Floatride foam to provide lightweight cushioning and responsiveness to the sole. The zip-up shell of the boot is crafted from Nomex fire-resistant polymer, while the inside uses an elastic mesh fabric that stretches to a certain point, then locks out when the suit inflates. The SB-01’s lightweight and flexible construction ensures comfort in all conditions.

Following their successful astronaut tests, the blue-and-white boots will debut on the upcoming mission to the International Space Station (ISS) via Boeing’s new shuttle, the CST-100 Starliner.
