Honda has joined forces with Forza Motorsport 7 to hold the “R vs R” – a mixed reality race between real and virtual.

IndyCar driver Graham Rahal drove the new 2018 Honda Civic Type R on the Road Atlanta circuit in reality, while pro gamer Peter “the SLAPtrain” Jenkins also got behind the wheel in the same Honda model and the same race track, virtually via Forza Motorsport 7. The gamer’s drive was pre-recorded and displayed through the specially made, mixed reality windshield on Rahal’s car, so that Rahal could see a “ghost” of Jenkins’ car in front of him. The lap times were close, but you will have to watch the video to find out who won this mixed-reality race.
