Japanese designer Ryuichi Kozeki apprenticed under Toshiyuki Kita and established his own design studio named RKDS in year 2011.  In his latest work Oculus, he aimed to explore the relationship between lights and things. Oculus has abandoned the function of lights that we are familiar with and took it back to the basic of light by demonstrating the nature of lights through the pieces in Oculus series. He has created three identical pieces that displays various gradations of light rays and the forth piece imitated the natural shape of light. When you look at these lights they are more like sculptures, the primary function of light seems to be less important.
