Mercedes-Benz’s Instagram account reaches new milestone

Instagram has integrated into most people’s online experience, especially after launching features such as Stories and click-to-buy, and is one of the key platforms for brands to engage their customers.

There is no difference for automotive brands. Mercedes-Benz was one of the first automakers on Instagram, joining on March 2012, and now the total number of followers of all Mercedes-Benz accounts adding up to over 35 million. Additionally, a recent study by T4Media indicates that the marque has received one billion likes, and is the first one among the “Interbrand Best Global Brands 2018” to do so. The main Instagram channel @mercedesbenz alone gets 27.6 million likes per month.

The automaker has created a special website to celebrate this milestone, featuring the most successful posts as well as unusual or funny Instagram content. Around 20 Instagram photos will also be turned into large prints and exhibited inside the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart from 5-31 January 2019.
