Mystic Light
Solid Light Works By Anthony McCall

British artist Anthony McCall calls his latest exhibition ‘Solid Light Works’. It demonstrates his expertise in manipulating light by inviting participants into his foggy and mysterious world.

In this exhibition, you will see the concept of the film ‘Line Describing a Cone’ showing McCall first exploring light in 1973, where he used lines to occupy a three-dimensional space. He has mentioned in different interviews that these works intertwine sculpture, cinema and drawing, with sculpture suspended in space, with movements that are ever-changing, and also like drawings which are two-dimensional lines.

You can wander around freely in the mist-filled area, interrupting the light and shadow, affecting the relationship between your moving body and McCall’s forms. As with our lives, those things which are mighty might go unnoticed but respond to our inputs, either voluntarily or involuntarily.
