Joe Hollier and Kaiwei Tang, co-founders of Light, introduced their first Light Phone in May 2015 and have just launched the successor, the Light Phone 2 on crowdfunding website Indiegogo.

The Light Phone 2 shares the same minimalist design language as the original Light Phone, but is more reliable, durable and practical than its predecessor. It is a 4G LTE phone that comes with a beautiful black & white matte E-ink display. You can quickly place phone calls, store speed dials and contacts, and send simple messages. The new Light Phone 2 will have room for many more, like messaging, an alarm clock, or a ride home function, as the team go through the manufacturing process in the coming months. But one thing is for sure – you still can’t use Whatsapp, Instagram or Twitter on this phone, nor even taking pictures or videos; the Light Phone 2 encourages you to spend quality time doing the things you love the most, free of distraction.

The Light Phone 2 is available to back on Indiegogo for $225, with an estimated delivery in April 2019.
