More Buzz Before The Launch
Toyota Supra charity auction and charity wrapping paper

With the 2020 Supra finally set to be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on 14 January, keen Toyota watchers know that this will be the model that kick starts the 2019 season.

The very first 2020 Supra available in the United States will be auctioned at the Barrett-Jackson sale in Scottsdale on 19 January, with all proceeds going to the American Heart Association and the Bob Woodruff Foundation. With the VIN number 20201, this one-of-a-kind Supra will feature a matte grey exterior with red mirror caps, red leather interior and matte black wheels, and a special carbon fibre badge in the cabin indicating its status as the very first 2020 Supra. Exclusive experiences will also be included for the winning bidder.

If you would rather wait for the regular launch of the car, there’s a smaller gesture that you can engage in to show your love for the iconic sports car: we’ve seen the new Supra in its testing camouflage body wrap, and in a rather ingenious twist – you can now purchase the same pattern as gift wrapping paper. For the princely sum of £5, you can receive four sheets of this limited edition Toyota Supra wrapping paper, featuring the red, white and black colours of Toyota Gazoo Racing and a subtle A90 reference of the car’s chassis code. Only 500 rolls are available and profits will be headed to Crisis UK to support their Christmas programme for homeless people. While the jury is still out in decided if these two initiatives are either gimmicky or cool, it’s a good thing that they are both going towards a charitable cause – it is the season of giving, after all.
