Lamborghini’s Man
Valentino Balboni launches own company

Valentino Balboni is a name familiar to every Lamborghini fan. While this gentleman worked for Lamborghini for over 40 years, starting as a mechanic’s apprentice, he is better known internationally as the test driver personally chosen by Ferruccio Lamborghini. Up to his retirement in 2009, he personally tested 80% of the Lamborghini’s entire production. In fact, so great was the company’s gratitude for his contribution to their success that, in 2010 Lamborghini brought out the limited edition Valentino Balboni Gallardo LP550-2.

It seems that after all these years, Valentino Balboni’s name is still closely connected to the Italian automaker. Recently he has launched his company VB, specialising in producing aftermarket components for Lamborghini models. VB’s first product will be an exhaust system sure to make Lambo’s supercar sound even better. This dedicated Aventador LP-750 SV ultralight handmade titanium exhaust weighs only 13.8 pounds and comes with OEM mountings. Each unit requires more than 350 hours to manufacture; only 30 units will be offered. The official unveiling will be at the Concorso Italiano in Monterrey Bay, California on August 20. Pricing of the exhaust is still to be confirmed, but nostalgic Aventador SV owners won’t be too concerned about the price.
