Inspired by Le Mans
Rochas 2018 Spring/Summer Collection

French fashion house Rochas, founded by Marcel Rochas in 1925, has unveiled their second menswear collection during Paris Fashion Week. After a 22-year hiatus from the catwalk, Rochas relaunched their menswear line in 2016 and appointed French female designer Béatrice Ferrant as its new artistic director.

In Ferrant’s second collection designed for the French label (the Fall/Winter 2017 – 18 was her first), she found inspiration in the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance car race; she employed elements of drivers, mechanics and vintage cars into the designs. The resulting collection will undoubtedly appeal to motorsports lovers. For instance, Ferrant transformed the essential mesh driving gloves into a carbon cotton net pant with a raw waist. Additionally, shirts, blazers and leather jackets are decorated with racing motifs, while t-shirts and tanks are embroidered with finely detailed maps of the original Le Mans course.
