Brabus has teamed up with French electric specialist DAB Motors to explore a new direction in urban mobility, unveiling a trio of electric motorcycles at Milan Design Week. Based on DAB’s modular 1α platform, the collaboration introduces three models: the DAB 1α Brabus, the more performance-focused Brabus Urban E, and the range-topping Brabus Urban E First Edition.
Each step up the range brings a stronger visual identity and greater technical intent, but it is the Urban E First Edition that stands out as the most striking expression. Presented as a strictly limited collector’s series in four distinct colourways — Peetch, Desert Sand, Superviolet and Fusion Red — and just 10 examples for each colour, it leans heavily into a bold, almost sci-fi aesthetic. The monocoque-style bodywork, integrated lighting and carbon elements give it a futuristic presence that feels closer to a concept than a production model. In its Fusion Red finish, the resemblance to the iconic machine of Akira is hard to ignore.
Beyond its visual impact, the Urban E First Edition is based on the DAB 1α platform. Its upgraded electric drivetrain delivers 37 hp and a substantial 475 Nm of torque, providing immediate acceleration that suits urban riding. A revised inverter and dedicated engine mapping ensure consistent power delivery, with carbon-fibre air ducts helping maintain performance under load. With a top speed of 120 km/h and a range of up to 150 km, it is well suited to urban commuting, while charging remains straightforward using a standard household outlet, taking just a few hours for a full charge.
