Tom Havlasek

Tom Havlasek, who was recently nominated for the Czech Esquire Man of the Year award, is an artist and illustrator as well as a motorsport lover, which sees him focus his work on classic auto racing. Havlasek is extraordinarily good at choosing the best part of an iconic image for his compositions, first laying it out digitally and then painting on canvas with acrylic. The work is usually created with splashes and a blurred background, in his preferred style of “dirty” and “unclear”.

Before becoming a full-time artist, Tom spent the early phase of his career in street art, and because of this unique experience, he is able to convey a sense of wildness and drama – something more traditional motorsport art can lack. It probably won’t come as a surprise to learn that both Le Mans and Monaco regularly exhibit Havlasek’s work, not to mention his popularity among galleries and collectors around the world.
