Ares Corvette Stingray

Ares Design has brought a vintage Corvette Stingray into the modern world, and the result is simply charming. The Modena-based coachbuilder has revealed some of its recent projects and this restomod Stingray is just one of them.

A 1964 Corvette Stingray is used as a base, and replacing the original engine is a LS3 6.2-litre V8 sourced from Corvette C6, a model that was built between 2005 to 2013. The chassis and suspension is from Corvette C7. Needless to say, the updated car has a whole lot more power than it used to, now generating 525 hp, sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The rear wheel arches have been modified and the interior has seen some attention too, with new leather and a modern AV system using an Alpine audio system, USB ports, Bluetooth and electronic windows.
