Garmin has introduced a new product called the Garmin Speak which combines the company’s GPS navigation system with built-in Amazon Alexa Voice Service technology, allowing drivers to access exclusive Garmin turn-by-turn spoken directions by simply saying, “Alexa, ask Garmin … ”.

This small, interactive device provides important information to you while driving, including weather, news, sports stats or traffic updates — all while keeping your hands on the wheel and your smartphone stowed away. Additionally, it allows you to place orders for home delivery of goods or food, create shopping and to-do lists, update your calendar, and remotely control smart home automation such as lights, locks and thermostat.

Using the free Garmin Speak app from your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, the Garmin Speak streams music playlists and podcasts through your vehicle’s stereo, via Bluetooth or AUX. If all this isn’t enough for you, you can always update your device with thousand of skills available in the Alexa Skills Store.
