Here Comes the Unexpected
Tesla Roadster 2

Elon Musk surprised crowds by unveiling a new version of the Tesla Roadster last Thursday night, after revealing his new electric 18-wheeler ‘Semi’ truck during a presentation at an airport in Los Angeles.

Said to be the fastest car ever made, this shiny red Roadster is an updated version of Tesla’s first production vehicle, which sold from 2008 to 2012. The 2-door-4-seater, which features a removable glass roof, can sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 1.9 seconds, before getting to 100 miles per hour in 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 250 miles per hour. The car is powered by a 200 kilowatt-hour battery pack that will have 1,000 kilometres of driving range on a single charge.

According to Tesla, the first 1,000 models sold will be the Founder’s Series models which will cost $250,000 each, paid in full up front, while production isn’t slated to begin until 2020, so you still have some time to save up.
