Durable And Low-Profile
Leather goods by Arc’Teryx Veilance

Visionary leading Canadian outdoor brand Arc’Teryx is well known for its use of high-tech materials and military-grade quality. Its diffusion line, Arc’Teryx Veilance, has just launched an ultra-thin slimline casing leather goods collection with items such as billfolds and cardholder. The use of leather, together with the new silhouette, brings out the more sophisticated and stylish side of the brand.

The slimline and durable collection is the result of a newly-conceived stitch-less construction method. The brand tested around 30 different materials starting from February 2016 before landing on using leather. “We wanted to create totally new products that didn’t look or function like traditional carry goods. We wanted to create something that had aesthetic simplicity, that was physically very thin but exceptionally strong and durable,” explains Equipment Designer Katie Mah on the website.

Working with Horween, one of the finest North American tanneries, the brand selected a full grain combination tanned leather with waterproof treatment and combined the material with its custom-built laminating machines to create the small leather goods. Arc’Teryx Veilance plan to continue using new production methods in order to create new durable objects with a low-profile design.
