First Drop-top Since 1970
2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Convertible

Chevrolet has unveiled the 2019 Corvette ZR1 convertible at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show. It is the first ZR1 drop-top since the original ZR1, introduced in 1970. The ZR1 convertible will start at $123,995, slightly higher than the coupe, at $119,995. Both will be available next Spring.

The convertible now weighs just 60 pounds (27 kg) more than the coupe, with most of the difference attributed to the folding top hardware. The power top allows remote operation up to 30 mph. Power comes from the same 6.2-litre supercharged LT5 V-8 as the coupe, which delivers 755 horsepower (563 kW) and 715 lb-ft of torque (969 Nm). A seven-speed manual transmission and paddle-shift eight-speed automatic transmission are offered, allowing the convertible to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in under 3.0 seconds. Equipping the Corvette ZR1 convertible with the available eight-speed automatic will produce quarter mile times in the high 10-second range.
