Final Phase Of Testing
Toyota GR Yaris Rally2

Toyota Gazoo Racing is actively conducting tests on its GR Yaris Rally2, a race car constructed in accordance with Rally2 regulations. The primary objective is to secure competition homologation from the FIA World Rally Championship authority by January 2024.

Following its initial introduction at the Tokyo Auto Salon in conceptual form earlier this year, the GR Yaris Rally2 has undergone refinement through participation in the Japanese Rally Championship.

Positioned as a global offering for customer motorsport teams, Toyota is in the final stages of development and testing outside Japan. In a recent development, French driver Stéphane Lefebvre and Finnish driver Sami Pajari conducted tests on the GR Yaris Rally2 demo car in the French Alps. Additionally, the same car served as the zero car in the French national rally, Rallye du Dévoluy, last weekend. It played a crucial role in opening the road for competing cars, mirroring the format of a WRC2 competitor’s week.

Pending a successful conclusion of the FIA inspection for homologation at the end of the month, the GR Yaris Rally2 is poised to make its official WRC2 debut at the Rally Monte Carlo, commencing on January 25, 2024.
