Spaceships by Lars Stieger

While walking alone on the street, occasionally one might look up to see the nearby buildings becoming much larger or distorted because of the viewing angle. Occasionally, that sense of vertigo can catch you off-guard.

Based in Hamburg, photographer Lars Stieger presents an unusual series of architectural photographs called “Spaceships” that showcases his love of shooting buildings. He does not capture the complete buildings, but shoots from down below to create these stunning images. It is difficult for viewers to identify the subjects in his photos as they all look like huge spaceships flying across the sky rather than buildings. Stieger also specifically adjusts the photos so that they appear to be greyish and blurry to set an estranged and extraterrestrial mood.
