Elevates the X
Fujifilm X-Pro2

We have only just entered 2016, but the photography world has already begun to introduce an array of new and important camera models. Case in point would be Fujifilm’s latest release of their mirrorless camera, the X-Pro2, at the 2016 CP+ exhibition. As the successor of the X-Pro1 released 4 years ago, the X-Pro2 is the only interchangeable lens camera in the world with an advanced hybrid multi viewfinder, which can switch freely between being optical or electronic mode. It also features a new 24.3MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS III sensor. Almost every aspect of new X-Pro2 has been refreshed and the result is a more capable camera that successfully ticks every wish box and will become the benchmark for any other future X-series products.

Continuing the appearance of its predecessor, it has a lightweight four-piece magnesium alloy body and is equipped with 61 dust and drip-proof seals. Additionally, it has switched to twin SD card slots, achieving storage capacities closer to other professional camera models. It can shoot Raw files at all the camera’s ISO settings. The maximum shutter speed has been increased to 1/8000 second. Its back is fitted with a fixed 3-inch 1.62 M-dot LCD screen. The hybrid viewfinder not only presents the white balance and the exposure settings, available through the electronic viewfinder; it also has the immediate capture advantage of the optical viewfinder. The user can switch between the two using a convenient lever on the front of the camera. The third generation X-Trans CMOS image sensor effectively introduces very little noise at high ISO settings. Colour reproduction has been enhanced so that highlight detail is less likely to get over-amplified and blown-out. The new Pixel Mapping function enables the camera to automatically detect and calculate any bad sensor points, and thereby perform corrections to the differences. Needless to say, the new X-Pro 2 is a lovely camera to sling over your shoulder and just head out to shoot with.
