Renowned for its iconic folding bikes, British manufacturer Brompton is taking on a new robust market segment with its Brompton Electric.

The Brompton Electric’s 300Wh battery means you can maintain 15 mph to fly through the city with ease. The 2.9kg battery has a range of between 25 and 50 miles from one charge (depends on user and conditions) and is separable from the lightweight electric bike (13.7kg) with one click, making it easy to carry around. Meanwhile, the bike will still ride smoothly without the battery.

The Brompton Electric can be operated in 4 different modes, ranging from no assistance up to a high level of support thanks to the smart, integrated torque and cadence sensor that designed together with Williams Advanced Engineering. Combining Williams’ Formula E expertise with the complex demands of a Brompton, the Electric’s system knows when to assist you to produce a smooth ride. Customizable performance settings and track record are available through the Brompton Electric app. Lastly, the Electric still folds to the same size as the traditional Brompton.

You can reserve the Brompton Electric on their website in either two or six speed versions. Prices range from £2,595 to £2,755 depending on your final specification. The estimated delivery is in early 2018.
