A new high-performance pickup has been unveiled, transforming the Mercedes-AMG G 63 into an exclusive coachbuilt machine limited to just ten examples worldwide. The P 900 Rocket Edition revives and refines the earlier Rocket pickup concept, blending extreme power with the versatility of a pickup bed and the signature craftsmanship of a Masterpiece supercar.
The conversion begins with substantial structural work. Engineers extend the G 63’s steel ladder frame by 50 centimeters (19.7 inches) and reposition the rear suspension accordingly, preserving torsional rigidity. A fabricated steel bulkhead seals the four-door cabin, while the cargo bed features a metal floor, side-opening tailgate, carbon-fiber side panels, soft-teak decking, and two lockable waterproof storage boxes. The result is a vehicle measuring approximately 211.8 inches in overall length.
Power comes from a comprehensively rebuilt 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8. Displacement is increased through larger bores, forged pistons, a billet crankshaft, and high-performance connecting rods. Larger turbochargers raise output to 900 horsepower and 1,250 Nm of torque (electronically limited to 1,050 Nm / 774 lb-ft inside the vehicle to protect the drivetrain). Paired with a nine-speed automatic and permanent all-wheel drive, the pickup accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 240 km/h (149 mph). A stainless-steel valve-controlled exhaust system with side-exit pipes delivers a switchable soundtrack.
Visually, the Rocket Edition Widestar package cloaks the body in extensive exposed carbon fiber, including fender flares, front fascia, Powerdome hood, and rear elements. Signature red accents and illuminated branding complete the aggressive stance. The truck rides on 24-inch forged Monoblock II EVO “Platinum Edition” wheels with carbon aeroblades and specially developed Hankook tires. RideControl coilovers lower the vehicle by about 45 mm while offering adjustable damping.
Inside, a handcrafted Masterpiece interior combines black leather and Alcantara with distinctive shell-pattern quilting, Rocket Red stitching, piping, and switchgear. Carbon-fiber accents, illuminated entry panels, and a matching Weekender travel bag underscore the bespoke nature of the build. Each example also receives a blockchain-verified Digital Product Passport accessible via NFC.
Pricing is available upon inquiry, with one example listed near €712,000 before taxes. The P 900 Rocket Edition stands as a rare fusion of supercar performance, pickup practicality, and uncompromising exclusivity.
