Dedicated To Five Senses
TouchySmellyFeelyNoisyTasty by Tom Dixon

British designer Tom Dixon has transformed his entire London headquarters into a multi-sensory lab with interactive installations, workshops, and talks that explore different senses for the London Design Festival, happening from 14 to 22 September. Located in King’s Cross, the HQ is dubbed the Coal Office and comprises shop, factory, restaurant, and gallery.⠀⠀

The multi-sensory lab runs under the interesting title “TouchySmellyFeelyNoisyTasty” and aims to present the flavours, fragrances, sounds, colours and textures of the future, each with a unique experience for visitors. Touchy-Feely is represented by newly shaped FAT chairs upholstered with Bute Fabrics in the textiles arch, while the Razor Bar is also set up to offer grooming services. For Smelly, visitor can sample various fragrances including the newly launched Alchemy and Underground at the perfumery. The Noisy section sees Tom Dixon collaborating with Swedish synthesiser company Teenage Engineering, resulting in a co-designed overhanging chandelier sculpture with LED lighting operating in time with the music. As for Tasty, a champagne garden is set up with Perrier-Jouët and special menus are also offered in the HQ’s restaurant.
