Sony BRAVIA Z9D

Sony has spared no effort in developing industry-leading 4K technology for its Sony BRAVIA series. Just when everyone thought Sony’s X9D was its most advanced product, the factory has surprised us with an even higher quality Z9D model. Sony’s newest star focuses on exploiting the black areas in OLED by adding a 4K HDR processor, the X1 Extreme Image Processor, to deliver a 40% performance increase compared to the old X1 engine. Sony has also implemented Backlight Master Drive technology so that each calibrated high-density LED point source operates independently to allow beam correction through a unique local dimming algorithm that reduces the interference caused by light diffusion, providing richer black levels that reveal hidden details.

As for its overall colour performance, Z9D uses the Super Bit Mapping 4K HDR “Smooth Gradient” processing technology to convert 8-bit source colour (SDR) and 10-bit HDR picture (HDR) into 14-bit so that the colour processing increases by a factor of 64, smoothing any colour variances. Matched with Sony’s exclusive database for noise reduction, the Z9D searches over thousands of patterns and automatically identifies to remove any noise on the screen. Besides providing ultimate 4K quality, the Z9D also renders highly realistic CG animations. Pre-installed with the Sony Android smart TV operating system, users can choose the program with either the remote control or voice command. The Z9D comes in three different sizes; 65-inch, 75-inch, and 100-inch.
