Art Deco Masterpiece
1930 Majestic restored by Heroes Motors

The Majestic was a unique motorcycle designed by French engineer Georges Ray. Unveiled at the 1929 Paris Motor Show, the Majestic was an excellent Art Deco piece, built using sheet steel with the drive train encased as Ray felt the usual tubular frames flexed too much. While its novelty was well appreciated, sales success did not follow and production was ceased in 1933. It is believed that currently less than 10 Majestics are left.

Serge Bueno of LA-based Heroes Motors recently restored one example, which was owned by his family for 30 years. It took him five months to complete the restoration work, as there were no factory parts available and all he could rely on were photographic references. The reworked monocoque now looks fabulous in white and burgundy, and Bueno has added a charming sidecar from French specialist Bernadet to complement it.
