Edition 1 versions have become a new tradition for Mercedes-AMG, only available for the first 12 months of a new model. For the new Mercedes-AMG GT four-door, the Edition model is based on the top-of-the-range AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+.

Under the hood is a 639 hp 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that is capable of reaching 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 315 km/h, and the Edition version 1 is enriched with more details inside out. The AMG aerodynamics package adds a larger front splitter, optimised diffuser and fixed rear spoiler with mechanically-adjustable angle for additional downforce – 30 kg more at 300 km/h to be exact. Grey racing stripes and 21-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels just push the aggression even further.

For the interior, upholstery in Nappa leather and the DINAMICA microfibre steering wheel are adorned with contrasting yellow stitching. Yellow seat belts, matt carbon fibre trim and the Edition-specific floor mats also add to the unique look. The Edition 1 will debut at the ADAC Zurich 24h Race at Nürburgring this weekend. Globally delivery will start from September this year.
