Belgium watchmaker Ressence has introduced its new Type 2 e-Crown® Concept watch featuring a traditional mechanical watch construction with an automated time setting technology called e-Crown. It connects to your phone via Bluetooth, then adjusts to match the time on your phone. If you prefer, you can also set the time manually just like a traditional mechanical watch.

The watch runs on either an automatic base movement or solar power. The automatic base movement is powered by a self-winding rotor while the e-Crown® is powered by a kinetic generator and photovoltaic cells.

While the Type 2 e-Crown is identified as only a concept, the production version will be ready to hit the market in June.
